Adele’s journey with Waterside Art began long before the name took shape. After graduating in 2008 with a Fine Art with Art History degree and a PGCE, she went on to earn a NASENDCO award, grounding her teaching practice in inclusivity and ensuring that every workshop she leads welcomes learners of all abilities. Years of teaching Art and Design across a range of settings strengthened her belief that creativity flourishes when people feel supported, understood, and encouraged.
That belief guided her back to her own studio. In 2018 Adele began hosting small, intimate workshops in acrylic pouring, acrylic and oil painting, and printmaking. These early sessions were hands‑on, exploratory, and full of warmth — people enjoyed experimenting, learning and discovering the joy of making art. The atmosphere was relaxed and personal, shaped by Adele’s inclusive approach and her ability to ensure that each painter felt confident to let go of inhibitions and get creative..
As more people joined, the workshops grew into a creative community. Participants returned not only for the techniques but for the feeling of belonging — the calm guidance, the step‑by‑step demonstrations, and the reassurance that everyone, regardless of experience or ability, had a place at the table.
By November 2023, it was time for the next chapter. Adele officially rebranded her growing practice as Waterside Art and enjoyed painting in public restaurants and bars, transforming those studio beginnings into a fully realised creative venture while preserving the heart of what made the workshops special.
Today, Waterside Art Painting Events continue that original spirit. Class sizes remain small so everyone has each tutor's full attention. Waterside Art offers clear demonstrations and individual support for everyone. Canvases are sometimes pre‑drawn to help participants focus on creating a high‑quality piece they’ll be proud to display at home. Every event is relaxed, inclusive, and suitable for all ages and abilities — and everyone leaves having learned something new, often surprised by what they’ve achieved.
